Another abstract design, full page.. all in sharpies of different sizes. About 12-15 hours over about two weeks. This was an attempt on a bit more of 3D design than anything, I tried to make it so where ever look on the page it pops out.
I think I may have succeeded, but I'll wait you your comments and c/c before claiming anything.
to uh, poke your brain art hemisphere a bit, have you drawn these with a specific goal, abstraction or underlining theme? I think it'd be cool to see something like this, but with a depth change here and there. Think of it like looking down an upright tree with a bunch of fungus growing on it- in here, it seems like it goes down, then back up, then down and back up; perhaps 2 to 3 layers. Does that make sense?
and with these I do have underlying "goals" you could say.. more like different experiements with direction and style. For example, in this one I had a few main goals.. One was for a darker border combined with a lighter border, a sort of yin-yang thing. The point of that (I hoped) was to bring your eyes to the center of the page. The other goal I had was to make it look almost 3D. So that you could look at any point on the page and it would pop out at you. In other drawings I either start from the cetner or from one side... Latety its been mostly experiementing with different directions and patterns. You can tell me how successful it was..
I fear some of the 3d effect may be lost by putting it on an illuminated screen. Thick/thin lines achieving a sense of depth? Nonetheless, I enjoy it as much as any of your abstract festivals of deranged details ^^

hmm i see your point however the border wasnt really meant to be part of it, i mean more looking at individual parts of the craziness... almost everywhere you look something just POPS! ..not necessarily 3D but definetly pop-py.. haha
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
